What is a Registered Piano Technician (RPT)?

A Registered Piano Technician is a member of the Piano Technician’s Guild who has passed a series of examinations demonstrating their proficiency in piano design, tuning theory, and repair techniques. They must demonstrate at a professional level their proficiency in assembling the action, adjusting the regulation, and tuning by ear both a grand piano as well as an upright piano.
